How secure are your units?
The site is floodlit, monitored by 24 hour manned CCTV and all units are steel and secured with insurance-approved padlocks. (purchased at start of lease)
Are your containers water proof?
Yes, they are very waterproof—containers are used to ship electricals, foodstuffs, clothing and anything else you can think of!
All our containers are new this year, with added ventilation ports, new floors, UV paint, watertight, added security locks and fingertip opening, providing you don’t place any damp or wet items into the unit, your stuff will stay completely dry.
Is there anything I can’t store?
We operate under British law, which means that firearms, weapons, illicit substances (drugs, explosives), anything else that is illegal or harmful to public health is prohibited.
We also do not accept any vehicle parts etc.
Do I need ID?
Yes to lease a container from BSS photographic ID must be provided.
How do I finish my lease?
We ask for a months notice period to vacate your unit, and ask you leave the unit as you found it, ready for the next customer. You must, of course, remove your padlock and perhaps give the unit a quick sweep.
Are there any other charges?
There are no additional rental charges, all we ask for is a deposit, padlock purchased from us (for insurance purposes) and your monthly rental fee. Paid monthly, half yearly or yearly.
How long can I store or lease a container?
Simply, as long as you want. Customers typically store for 6-months or longer, but some as short as 1-month. All we ask is that you provide a months notice when you plan to vacate.
What happens if I lose my key?
All locks need to be purchased from us and you will be issues with 3 copies. In the event you lose all 3 copies providing we can verify your identity, we are able to cut off your lock to provide you immediate access. You will be required to secure your unit with a new padlock before departing.
How do I make payments?
Payments for lease are made via standing order.
The 1st months payment, deposit and security padlock (which you buy to own) can be made on site via Cash payment.
Subsequent payments can then be made in blocks of 6 months via standing order.
